Typhoons, those tropical cyclones from the Pacific and from the South China Sea, fascinate the inhabitants of Southern Asia as well as foreigners. It is the point of departure that the Polish photographer Tom Kondrat chose for his series titled Typhoon Blues. Taiwanese coastal landscapes are immortalized under a threatening sky and follow each other in a melancholic atmosphere.

Yelena Bryksenkova is an artist native of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, who studied illustration in Maryland and decorative arts in Prague. She lives now in New England, where she works as freelance illustrator. Influence of Russia is visible in her work, where majestic phoenix bloom in fairy gardens. She transmits her love for everyday life’s objects, for home, but also for more magic, mysterious and melancholic themes through her watercolors or her acryla gouache illustrations.
