Pink Imaginative Portraits of Famous People and Characters

Pink Imaginative Portraits of Famous People and Characters

The painter Scott Scheidly knows how to turn in derision famous characters and people. Known for good or bad reason, everyone is housed in the same boat and find itself wearing a pink suit, bling-bling accessories, the all beautifully framed by a candy-like neo-baroque structure. A result both funny, kitsch and very well achieved.

Brilliant Abstract Portraits by Henrietta Harris

Brilliant Abstract Portraits by Henrietta Harris

Artist Henrietta Harris, who lives in New-Zealand, continues to impress us with her paintings and portraits. Since her series Missing Faces which we talked about on Fubiz, she keeps exploring the asperities of her model’s faces and identities. In this selection, she makes them abstract through their erased features by paint and faces that seem to vanish.

1800s-1900s Portraits Of Native American Teen Girls Show Their Unique Beauty And Style (15+ Pics)

These rare and beautiful vintage portraits of Native American girls were taken between the late 1800s and the turn of the 19th Century, yet despite being over a century old, many of them are still surprisingly clear.

Women were well respected in traditional Native American culture, and although they generally had different roles from men, they often had the same rights as their male counterparts. They usually owned the home along with everything in it, and in some tribes, while the chief was a man, it was the women who were responsible for electing him. Because women's activities were considered central to the welfare of the community, this gave them a certain level of social, political and economic power, and even today approximately 25% of Native American tribes recognised by the federal government of the United States are led by women. We Portray People’s Dreams And Thoughts In Surreal Portraits

We Portray People’s Dreams And Thoughts In Surreal Portraits

We wanted to combine our strengths, both in photography and photo editing, to go beyond the flat reality of portraits and rather show a glimpse of the rich inner selves of our subjects. A way to show that behind our masks, we are complex and have dreams.

The idea emerged from the very elaborate Renaissance hairdos. We wanted to spark universal emotions through our subjects while keeping a poetic yet modern image. The project presents nine portraits, nine subjects, each dwelling in their own imaginary landscapes, much larger than their individual reality.

This series wouldn’t have been possible without: Anaïs Faubert (concept and photography), Geneviève Bellehumeur (concept and photo editing), Marie Ossa from the salon “Bar à Couleur” (hair), and Kristina Pileggi (MUA).

Dark Portraits Paintings Losing Their Identity

Dark Portraits Paintings Losing Their Identity

The work of Dutch painter Daniel Martin is between realism and abstract. After painting his realistic portraits, he deconstructs automatically the faces of the represented people, with brushstrokes and fingers strokes, like a disappearance of their identity. The imperfect beauty is a perpetual source of inspiration for this painter whose violent and dark works deal with chaos.
